B.V.C. PROJECTS

The Bank Village Committee undertakes several projects throughout the year. Our annual projects include the following:

   Good Friday

Health and Wellness Walk

This early morning Health and Wellness Walk invites individuals, friends and families to come out and participate in walking, jogging, sprinting or running. This physical activity rejuvenates and revitalises the body, soul and mind. When the event concludes, refreshments of juicy watermelon slices, sandwiches, juice and water are available to refresh participants.

Barbecue Fundraiser

This Barbecue Fundraiser, along with raffles and donation sheets are used to generate revenue to host projects of the Bank Village Committee. This fundraiser promotes cohesiveness and creates synergy as members showcase their talents and pool their resources to ensures this event is a success.

Divali Celebrations

Divali Celebrations are usually held in the latter part of the year prior to the Divali festival. This event is a display to preserve East Indian heritage by educating and entertaining individuals within the community. The Divali programme comprises traditional and cultural artforms of dances, bhajans, skits and talent displays. Indian dishes and parsad are distributed to the audience during the evening's programme to complete experience.

Annual Children's Christmas Treat

The Christmas Treat is a truly remarkable and wonderful experience. This event entails a Christmas Caravan with Santa Claus and his helpers distributing candy canes, whistle blowers, toys, treat bags and ice-cream to children in the village. This initiative by the Bank Village Committee is carried out in an effort to show care, appreciation and extend 'Seasons Greetings' to neighbours, children and well-wishers in the community.
